CARR provides...
Cellar Artist Run Residency (CARR), located in the heart of Brooklyn's art district, Clinton Hill, invites artists over 21 from around the globe to apply for 2024-25 sessions. CARR offers artists a unique platform to immerse themselves directly in New York's dynamic art scene. It provides a pathway to participate in two New York and New Jersey group shows. Our collaboration with the MORA Museum of International Art in Jersey City allows for an exhibition each session. At the same time, our Brooklyn studio's common area, Yoonion Art Space, hosts a second group exhibition and optional open studio. This exposure is crucial for enhancing artist profiles locally and internationally.
CARR offers flexible living and studio spaces, including private and shared options and 24/7 studio access to create a nurturing, creative environment to help further professional development.
Residency Highlights:
-
Flexible Accommodation and Studio Spaces: Choose from private or shared options, with 24/7 access to studio space.
-
Exhibition Opportunities: Participate in two significant group exhibitions at the MORA Museum of International Art in Jersey City, NJ, and Yoonion Art Space in Brooklyn, NY, designed to elevate your visibility and engagement in the art community.
-
Promote Your Career: Use these exhibitions to further your artistic career by inviting gallery owners, curators, and art professionals to see your work. This will expand your network and open doors to new opportunities.

Important Notes
Our regular residency program consists of each session lasting three months.
We do not have a deadline other than the first session starting on 05/01/2024. The application deadline for the first session is 04/15/2024.
CARR prioritizes artists who will fulfill one session of three months, but we also accept short-term artists for 1-3 month stays. While the minimum stay is one month, longer residencies offer more time to adjust to the metropolitan area and focus on project development. The residency fee includes accommodation, work/studio space, and open studio and exhibition.
Upon confirmation, 50% of the residency fee is payable via bank transfer or Transferwise, with the final payment due upon arrival.
We recommend that all creatives submit online applications at least 3-6 months before the planned residency.
